We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work on diverse projects, contribute to engineering designs, and manufacturing while providing technical leadership in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will assist with planned and routine maintenance of electrical and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Skills Required
- Diploma of Electrical Engineering or equivalent; higher level qualifications are favoured.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- EPLAN for panel and wiring diagrams, safety regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, for example AutoCAD Electrical and Revit.
- Ability to analyse and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and electrical standards.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial machinery, motors, drives, and power supplies.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and assemble custom electrical panels for both industrial and commercial applications.
- Install and implement electrical systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in CNC laser cutting machines, including CO₂ and fiber laser systems.
- Analyse and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and electrical standards to ensure accurate system integration.
- Calibrate and test manufactured products, including tagging and quality assurance, to meet operational standards.
- Maintain and optimise electrical systems of industrial machines, including motors, drives, and power supplies.
- Ensure safe and efficient power supply and distribution to high-power laser cutting equipment.
- Assist with the design and implementation of grounding systems, surge protection, and safety circuits for high-voltage components.
Pay: $86,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
