Joseph Banks Secondary College is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. We serve students from surrounding suburbs including Carramar and Tapping. As part of our vision for the College students are included in a culture of excellence, innovation, opportunity and success. Our Creative and Performing Arts High Performance Program supports students interested in visual art, drama, media, dance and music. Amongst other activities students will be able to present their work at semester showcases, art exhibitions, and as part of whole school productions. For budding athletes, the College offers High Performance Programs in Soccer and Netball, while also offering a range of other sports including Rugbyand AFL. Students can compete in their chosen sport at an interschool level and many students find success in local clubs and competitions due to their work on the College teams.

The Role
Joseph Banks Secondary College are seeking to appoint highly dedicated School Psychologist to join their team.
As the successful applicant you will demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to achieving exceptional educational outcomes for all students in this highly multi-cultural school where inclusivity forms an essential component of the school values system. Being a highly competent candidate, you will be key in providing specialist support to school staff in the areas of student behaviour, learning, and mental health and wellbeing, and the ability to collaborate with the school administration to develop evidence-based whole school improvement initiatives targeting and promoting positive teen mental health.
You will demonstrate highly effective skills in situational analysis, problem conceptualisation and the identification of strengths and needs to inform decision making at the individual, group, and systemic levels, plus have a strong commitment to your own professional growth and development, and demonstrate contemporary knowledge of exemplary interventions and support for teens. Strong organisational skills and proactive self-initiative are highly desirable and will enable you to work effectively with tour Wellbeing Warriors team and members of Senior Leadership to develop and implement individualised case management processes for educationally at-risk students.
Ideally, you will be able to exhibit a thorough understanding of psychological, social and organisational learning theories and assessment processes to support staff in developing, implementing and monitoring interventions to achieve appropriate outcomes for a diverse range of students. Experience in department policy, behaviour management in schools and procedures, individual education/risk management plans, behavioural assessment and intervention planning, analysis and application of data and pastoral care programs that promote positive student wellbeing would also be highly desirable for this position

Demonstrated ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
