Pondok Daun Sefton Plaza is an Indonesian restaurant located in Sefton Park, SA 5083. Since 2015, we have been offering authentic Indonesian cuisine to our valued customers. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled full time Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Prepare, season and cook authentic Indonesian cuisine using both traditional and modern cooking techniques, including stir-frying, grilling, braising and steaming to cook authentic Indonesian dishes like rendang, sambal, and gulai
2. Implement your keen sense of balancing sweet, savory, spicy, and tangy flavors in Indonesian dishes to create harmonious taste profiles 3. Adapt recipes and cooking techniques to account for customer dietary requirements
4. Plan and develop authentic Indonesian menu items while maintaining traditional flavours and presentation
5. Ensure consistency in taste and quality of all meals and food stuffs produced in the kitchen
6. Ensure precision in food presentation, garnishing, and plating to enhance the visual appeal of Indonesian dishes and create a memorable dining experience for customers
7. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations including efficient and timely food preparation and delivery of meals
8. Be responsible for ingredient, food and equipment preparation prior to and during meal service as required
9. Monitor food stock levels, minimise waste, maintain freshness, and report stock requirements for ordering.
10. Receive, inspect and appropriately store food supplies in accordance with food safety requirements.
11. Training of kitchen staff on proper preparation, cooking, hygiene and presentation processes and requirements
12. Comply with all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements in all aspects of role – cooking, food handling and food storage as well as equipment use, maintenance and storage.
To be the successful in joining our team you will have:
1. Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications
2. At least 1 year work experience as a Cook (or similar relevant role) mandatory. Preferred 2 – 3 years’ experience.
3. Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively within a team
4. Understanding and respecting the cultural significance and history behind Indonesian dishes, with a passion for traditional cooking methods and flavours
5 A want to continue to learn and gain experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
