Soka (@Soka.restaurant) is a trendy and Japanese restaurant with charcoal inspiration and it’s owned by the group, who manages some of Brisbane/ Sunshine Coast's best reviewed modern restaurants including Lyra Greek on the Sunshine Coast.
We are looking for a Cook/ Chef!
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and service
- Ensure food preparation, presentation, and portioning are consistent and of high quality
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and food products
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage facilities
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
- Support menu development and recipe preparation under the direction of senior chefs
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service when required
- Ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals during busy periods
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or safety issues
- Assist with training junior kitchen staff and maintaining team standards
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for quality food and presentation
Summary of Role Requirements:
- Looking for candidates available to work weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role
- Work visa can be provided for this role
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Maroochydore QLD 4558: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
