The Role
A great career opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our national Finance team in the Melbourne office. In this role you will be supporting the Finance Manager with key finance deliverables on a monthly basis and assisting the Finance Team providing back up and support to all areas.
The list below outlines some major accountabilities and deliverables:
- Produce accurate monthly management reports on a timely basis
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Bank covenant reporting
- Complete monthly BAS and annual FBT return
- Ad-hoc reporting for management & partners
- Assist in the month end process
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Gain an understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Trust Accounting in order to provide back up and assistance where required
- Quarterly ABS reporting
- Payment Times reporting
Who We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will be CA or CPA accredited or be working towards it, with a minimum of two years experience working in an accounting role.
Key competencies:
- Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy of work, produced in a timely manner
- Good understanding of accounting principles and their application
- Ability to complete BAS returns and an understanding of FBT principles
- Demonstrates a good knowledge of systems and processes internally and externally
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Prioritise competing tasks sensibly after discussion with the relevant stakeholders
- Plans and organises work effectively and efficiently
- Builds effective working relationships
- Commits to working towards team success
- Contributes towards team morale and a positive work environment
