Mosman Village Church is a vibrant evangelical church in the heart of Mosman on Sydney's lower north shore. We are seeking a faithful, flexible, and relational Assistant Minister to join our team. While relevant skills and theological gifting are essential, we place a high value on godly character, personality, teachability and humility. This dynamic role spans congregational leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and next-generation ministries.

Essential Qualities:
A passion for Christ and making him known, gracious in character, a teachable heart, a love for people, a team player, a servant leader, able to submit to authority, faithful teacher of God’s Word, devoted to prayer, able to manage his family well.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Congregational oversight and pastoral care
- Provide pastoral and operational leadership for the 10am Family Service, ensuring a gospel-centred, prayerful, welcoming, and discipling culture
- Lead the congregation’s ministry planning in line with church vision and strategy
- Raise up, equip, and support leaders and volunteers to support healthy ministry
- Provide pastoral care as a member of the pastoral team, with a particular focus and care for our 10am Family Service
- Support the welcoming and integration of new people and their follow up as required
- Preaching and occasional services
- Preach on a regular basis across our 3 Sunday services according to the preaching roster
- Model and maintain faithful, expository, Christ-centred preaching that applies the Bible to contemporary life
- Take baptisms, weddings and funerals from time to time, as the opportunity arises
Next Generation Ministry and School Partnerships:
- Children’s and youth programs
- Coordinate and oversee children’s and youth ministry activities across the parish (experience and passion in this area is highly desirable)
- Supervise and support Student Ministers and lay volunteers in the week-to-week implementation of preschool, primary, and youth programs
- Coordinate and oversee our Friday night youth group, leveraging the support of Student Ministers and volunteer leaders
- Recruit and train additional leaders as required
- School partnerships
- SRE: Support the SRE team at Mosman Public School and Beauty Point Public School and teach at least ONE class as required
- Mosman Prep: Work with the Mosman Prep Chaplain to strengthen our ties between church and school, and seek to find ways to mutually strengthen our connection with students and families
- Queenwood: Maintain existing church-school ties, including preaching and participating and annual chapel services
Staff Culture & Expectations
- Work alongside and under the direction of the Senior Minister
- Work with the staff team to implement the Parish Vision: To know Jesus and make Jesus known
- Maintain confidentiality and deep commitment to the unity of the staff team and church body
- Work with the Safe Ministry Officer to ensure all leaders and volunteers are Safe Ministry trained and appropriate for their ministry role
- Participate in training events and professional development in consultation with the Senior Minister
