The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is seeking a reliable, energetic and hardworking Back of House Team Member to join our Operations team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll play a vital part in ensuring the Squadron is presented to the highest standard and fully operational for our members, guests and events.
Set up and pack down function rooms, meeting spaces and event areas.
Move furniture, equipment and event items safely and efficiently.
Assist with event changeovers, often within tight timeframes.
Maintain the presentation of indoor and outdoor areas, including vacuuming, leaf blowing, general cleaning and tidying.
Receive, transport and store deliveries, furniture and equipment.
Keep storage areas organised, clean and operational.
Assist with waste management, recycling and general operational duties.
Identify and report maintenance or safety issues and assist with basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.
Work closely with the Back of House Manager and other departments to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Squadron.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the presentation, cleanliness and operational readiness of the Club.
Follow safe work practices and manual handling procedures at all times.
Reliable, motivated and takes pride in your work.
Physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual handling and lifting.
A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Well organised with the ability to work efficiently and manage competing priorities.
Flexible and willing to assist wherever required.
Previous experience in hospitality, events, facilities or operations is advantageous but not essential.
This role involves a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, in line with the operational needs of the Squadron.
