Fast Food American-Style BBQ Restaurant with Drive‑Through
Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour (depending on age, experience, and responsibilities)
Hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (days, nights & weekends)
- Smokehouse and meat‑prep shifts are mostly daytime, with occasional later finishes
- Some weekend cooking shifts required, including supervising junior staff
- Some week‑night supervision required, depending on staff availability

We’re a busy fast‑food restaurant specialising in smoked meats, with dine‑in and drive‑through service. We operate in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment built around quality and consistency.
This role is centred on smokehouse work and catering, with supervision built in.
The amount of leadership you take on will depend on your strengths, interests, and staff availability. Full training is provided in all areas.

The Role
1. Smokehouse Assistant (core duties)
You will cut, prep, and smoke meat. Training will be provided. The role includes:
- Knife‑skill and butchery tasks (e.g., trimming brisket)
- Preparing meats and sides for the smoker
- Running smokers and monitoring cook cycles
- Learning American‑style BBQ techniques
- Assisting with kitchen production
- Training staff once competent
- Weekend cooking shifts with supervision responsibilities
- Ability to obtain a food safety certificate (and potentially Food Safety Supervisor certification)
- *Where current food safety certification not held, link will be provided at commencement of employment
2. Catering Support (core duties)
Offsite catering will be a core part of the role, predominantly on weekends.
- Assisting and managing off‑site catering services
- Setting up, servicing, and packing down
- Supervising junior staff during events
- Training new staff in catering procedures
- Trailer driving experience preferred
- *Full towing training provided
- due to the smoker trailer’s weight and complexity
3. Supervision & Leadership (required in some capacity)
Because we have limited adults on staff, some supervision is required, especially on weekends and occasional week‑night shifts.
Your level of leadership will depend on your strengths, your interest in developing supervisory skills and senior staff availability
Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):
- Supervising junior team members
- Assisting with evening or week‑night supervision
- Managing service across counter, drive‑through, and delivery platforms
- Handling customer queries and complaints
- Coordinating food preparation and order flow
- Managing task lists and food safety paperwork
- Opening/closing the restaurant
- Cash handling and end‑of‑day reconciliation

Key Responsibilities
Depending on your strengths and the needs of the business, you may:
- Cut, prep, and smoke meats to spec
- Coordinate food preparation and order flow
- Manage stock levels and basic inventory
- Complete food safety paperwork and task lists
- Maintain a clean and organised workplace
- Supervise and support junior team members
- Handle customer concerns professionally
- Open/close the restaurant (for supervisory roles)
- Perform cash handling and reconciliation (for supervisory roles)

About You
We’re looking for someone with some or all of the following:
- Strong knife skills or butcher experience
- Interest in BBQ, smoking meats, or kitchen operations
- Previous fast‑food or hospitality experience (preferred)
- Experience supervising staff (preferred but not essential)
- Reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable working days, some nights, and weekends
- Trailer driving experience (preferred but not essential — training provided)
