Digital Metro North is the technology and digital delivery arm of Metro North Health, Australia's largest hospital and health service. The team works closely with clinicians and partners including eHealth Queensland to deliver the systems, infrastructure and support that enable safe, high-quality patient care every day.
Driving a significant digital transformation agenda, Digital Metro North is currently implementing the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across the health service, delivering major digital initiatives under the Queensland Government's Hospital Rescue Plan, and executing the three-year Digital Delivery Plan. These programs are shaping a connected, digital-first healthcare environment that supports new models of care, improves patient outcomes and enhances clinician experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Solution Architect and Design you have a rare opportunity to lead the technical delivery of new and upgraded clinical imaging related digital systems and infrastructure that address the business problems and opportunities that directly improve patient outcomes and service efficiency at scale as a Principal Technical Advisor with Metro North Health. Drive the delivery of complex technical solutions across all architectural domains shaping clinical systems, virtual care, patient flow, and emerging technologies including AI as part of a transformative three-year Digital Delivery Plan. Make a tangible impact on healthcare outcomes while working with senior stakeholders in a dynamic and innovative environment.
This role is full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am - 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
Ensure system requirements are sufficiently captured to drive solution architecture that fully meets the needs and expectations of stakeholders.
Identify and assess the implications of applicable Queensland Health, whole-of-government and industry related policies, standards, and any other constraints (including funding and schedule) that impact architectural decision-making and ensure these are appropriately addressed in the solution architecture.
Consult, negotiate, and communicate with system stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote shared and consistent understanding and acceptance of the proposed solution.
Initiate, influence, and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders facilitating effective communication channels to ensure the successful delivery of projects including feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
Provide expert advice and communicate sound solution alternatives to architectural risks, issues and resulting implications by delivering comprehensive written responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, and reports that effectively guide design decisions.
Promote and ensure that appropriate solution architecture methods and tools are adopted and used effectively.
