What you'll be doing
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Implement and monitor nutritional care according to predetermined guidelines and under the supervision of an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
Conduct nutrition screening, meal audits and patient reviews that include, but are not limited to the following: completing malnutrition screening, collecting patient's food preferences, conducting meal-time audits and supplement tolerance reviews. Provide feedback to dietitians on findings, escalate concerns to dietitians as per guidelines and assist in discharge planning.
Provide education for clients on therapeutic diets as delegated by a dietitian (e.g. high energy and high protein eating) using predetermined guidelines and handouts.
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated ability to provide a defined range of assessments and clinical interventions under supervision and direction of a Dietitian and undertake operational and administrative duties relevant to the position.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients and the multidisciplinary team, with a good understanding of own scope of practice.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and assume responsibility for the assigned workload, including the use of effective and efficient planning and organisational skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage in professional development and supervision as well as contribute to service improvement activities in order to ensure the delivery of high quality care.
Mandatory Requirements
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
