About Us
Rojo Sambel x Martabak Pecenongan 78 is an Indonesian restaurant specialising in authentic Indonesian cuisine, including traditional sambal-based dishes, grilled meats, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and Indonesian street food favourites such as Martabak. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our growing kitchen team and assist in delivering high-quality Indonesian dining experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus featuring authentic Indonesian cuisine and seasonal specials.
- Prepare, cook and present a wide range of Indonesian dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality and presentation.
- Estimate food and labour costs and assist with stock control and ordering.
- Supervise kitchen operations during service periods.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Train and assist kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.
- Inspect food supplies, ingredients and finished dishes to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Assist management with menu improvements and the introduction of new dishes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian cuisine, ingredients, spices and cooking techniques.
- Experience preparing a variety of Indonesian dishes, including grilled, fried, braised and sambal-based dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work weekends, public holidays and evening shifts as required.
