About the role:
Join our growing maintenance team at Sandmount Farms, providing high-quality servicing, maintenance and repairs across our machinery, vehicle and equipment fleet.
You’ll work closely with the Maintenance Manager and farm team to keep equipment safe, reliable and ready when it’s needed, particularly through critical seasonal periods.
In this role, you will:

Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding across farm machinery, vehicles and equipment.
- Support preventative maintenance and pre-season servicing programs that improve reliability and reduce operational downtime.
- Monitor the condition and performance of tractors, horticultural equipment, tillage equipment, sprayers, planters, vehicles and other farm assets.
- Identify equipment issues early, communicate maintenance requirements clearly and help develop practical solutions.
- Maintain an organised, safe and efficient workshop that supports high standards of safety, productivity and workmanship.
- Work closely with the farm team to improve equipment reliability, longevity and operating efficiency.
- Assist with parts ordering, inventory management and accurate maintenance records.
- Maintain service vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment to a high standard.
- Use GO.FARM’s maintenance and safety systems to record completed work, equipment issues and follow-up actions.
- Work collaboratively with employees, contractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, care for equipment and continuous improvement.
- Carry out other duties as required.
About you:
You’re a qualified mechanic who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in keeping machinery and equipment running safely and reliably.
You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced farm environment, can think on your feet, and know the importance of preventative maintenance, good communication and getting the job done properly.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

A relevant trade qualification as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic or equivalent.
- A current driver’s licence.
- Experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding across plant, machinery, vehicles and equipment.
- Experience with agricultural machinery, diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems will be highly regarded.
- Confidence using app-based maintenance and safety systems on a mobile phone.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, proactive approach and a willingness to help where needed.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and high standards of workmanship.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic team.
