D&D Auto Tech is an Adelaide-based automotive repair workshop specialising in the servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repair of passenger motor vehicles. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical faults in petrol and diesel engines, transmissions and other vehicle systems using specialised diagnostic equipment.
- Inspect, dismantle, repair and replace defective engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking and other mechanical components.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, tune-ups, oil and filter changes in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Repair and replace engines, clutches, gearboxes, steering, suspension, braking and cooling system components.
- Test, adjust and tune engines and mechanical systems to ensure optimum vehicle performance.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to identify faults and verify the quality of completed repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and advise customers on required repairs and ongoing vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, manufacturer specifications and workshop quality standards.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and a clean, safe and organised work environment.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in an automotive trade or a higher relevant qualification (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience of at least 1 year in servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles
- Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, steering, suspension and braking systems.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and interpreting manufacturer specifications.
- Excellent diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy workshop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Current Australian Driver Licence is desirable.
