Disability Support Worker – Youth & Autism Support

Vitium Cura is seeking an experienced, reliable and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide individualised support to a young participant with Autism in Lilywood.
The successful candidate will support the participant to build independence, establish positive routines and safely participate in everyday activities at home and within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred 1:1 support
- Support daily living and independence-building skills
- Assist with personal care and self-care routines as required
- Support meal preparation and household activities
- Facilitate community access and social participation
- Support the participant through routines and transitions
- Apply positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies where required
- Follow participant-specific support plans, risk assessments and instructions
- Maintain professional boundaries and safeguarding practices
- Complete accurate progress notes and incident documentation
- Communicate appropriately with the participant, family and Vitium Cura team
We Are Looking For Someone With
- Previous disability support experience
- Experience supporting young people with Autism highly desirable
- Experience with behaviours of concern, emotional regulation or Positive Behaviour Support highly regarded
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Strong understanding of participant choice, dignity and independence
- Confidence supporting community access and daily living activities
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Reliability and ability to provide consistent support
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Blue Card / Working with Children requirements, where applicable
- Current First Aid & CPR
- National Police Check
- Valid Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle, current registration and comprehensive insurance where transport is required
- Australian working rights
- Relevant disability/community services qualification preferred
