The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia's greatest assets. The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually attracting over three million patrons and visitors.

The IT & Innovation team at the MCC is responsible for delivering the technology, data and digital systems that support the MCC's operations, patron experience and event-day delivery.
An opportunity has arisen within this team for a Database Administrator. Reporting to the Data Platform Manager, this role supports the management of MCC's core databases, providing day-to-day database and software support to the business while keeping systems available, secure and performing well.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install, configure and support databases and web-based software
- Implement and upgrade software and database systems, including testing, deployment and maintenance
- Perform database backups and restores and assist with disaster recovery testing
- Monitor database performance, capacity and availability, and assist with tuning and optimisation
- Administer database security, including user accounts, permissions and access controls, in line with MCC policies
- Provide on-site event-day IT support as rostered, including technology pre-checks and on-call support for critical business systems
This role is well suited to someone with strong technical database administration skills who thrives on solving complex, technical problems independently. You'll bring experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration, including SQL Server Always On high availability, along with sound communication skills and a commitment to high-quality customer service.
