We’re a Brisbane-based, small-batch brewery and hospitality group built on a simple idea: forever exploring, forever evolving. Since 2018 we’ve grown from a Newstead brewery into a collection of venues that locals genuinely love. Each one with its own personality, all of them sharing the same DNA. Great beer brewed fresh every week. Bold, approachable food. Spaces that feel considered, welcoming, and genuinely hard to replicate. Today the Range group includes our Newstead brewery and taproom, the sun-soaked courtyard of Patio by Range in Paddington, the cosy neighbourhood comfort of Rays by Range in Camp Hill, The Bethnal, our contemporary wedding and events space, and Neighbour at Gasworks Plaza, our newest local in Newstead.
Neighbour is a neighbourhood bar — welcoming, community-focused, and built around quality food, craft beer, and genuine hospitality. We’re growing, and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Venue Manager to take full ownership of Neighbour at Gasworks Plaza. This is a senior leadership role with real autonomy — you will run the venue, lead the team, and be the standard-setter for the Neighbour experience.
You will report to the Hospitality Operations Manager and work closely with the broader Range Brewing leadership group. This is a full-time role, 38 hours per week across five consecutive days — Neighbour operates seven days a week and your roster will be set accordingly.
If you are the kind of leader who takes pride in your venue, invests in your team, and holds yourself to a high standard — this role was built for you.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Exceed customer expectations of modern food and beverage through staff education, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality
- Carry out and oversee daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest standards of upkeep are met
- Maintain venue presentation and atmosphere to reflect Neighbour’s brand identity and values
- Purchasing, stock control, and restocking of all products for the bar and the venue
- Assist with hiring, training, and managing all Neighbour front-of-house staff
- Monthly stocktaking and reporting
- Efficient scheduling of all front-of-house staff
- Work closely with the Hospitality Operations Manager to build a supportive and influential leadership team
- Curation and coordination of all special events hosted at the venue, with the support of the Hospitality Operations Manager
- Creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures for re-ordering and inventory management
- Constant maintenance of the tap and beer system including fortnightly line cleaning
- P&L ownership – monitoring revenue, labour costs, and cost of goods against targets
- Managing venue compliance, including RSA, licensing obligations, and health and hygiene standards
- Conducting regular performance reviews and one-on-ones with direct reports
- Liaising with the kitchen team to ensure food and beverage programs are aligned and guest-experience focused
- Organising venue entertainment when required
- Developing and executing beverage specials for events and weekly programming, delivered on time and within budget
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in a senior venue or floor management role within a hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and hospitality service standards
- Proven track record in leading teams, scheduling, and performance management
- Sound financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labour costs, and COGS
- Current RSA certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Available across a rotating roster, including weekends
Why Neighbour?
- A well-established venue with a strong identity, great product, and a loyal Gasworks community to build on
- A supportive leadership team that invests in your development
- Staff benefits including product discounts and access to Range Brewing events
- Real opportunities to grow within a hospitality group that is expanding
- A positive, professional team culture
- Start date mid to late August 2026
