Position: Cook (Full-Time)
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience)
Arte & Gusto Cafe Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our busy kitchen team on a full-time basis. We are looking for a reliable professional who is passionate about preparing high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook a wide variety of menu items to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure meals are prepared and presented consistently with excellent quality and portion control.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of daily or seasonal specials.
- Monitor food quality and maintain consistency during busy service periods.
- Receive, inspect and store food supplies in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, stock rotation and waste minimisation.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas.
- Comply with all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Essential Requirements
- A qualification in Commercial Cookery is compulsory.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a commercial kitchen is compulsory.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
- Good communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
