> Respond strategically and proactively to the changing education sector, lead innovation collaboratively
and model a positive approach to evidence based change as pertinent to the Middle or Senior School.
> Assist the Head of School in the management of the Middle School.
Wellbeing Leadership
> Lead staff to develop, implement and evaluate engaging and rigorous Christ centred student wellbeing
practices to support and promote each student’s wellbeing and resilience in the Middle School.
> Lead the Middle School staff to build and sustain a strong model of student leadership that actively
engages students in leading students, mentoring, coaching and the development of school pride.
> Undertake effective research to promote and sustain improvement, ensuring the development of age
appropriate quality assurance and review strategies relevant to the wellbeing of students.
> Implement a strong Christian based wellbeing system in the Middle School that actively supports and
develops each student including the involvement of staff and families.
> In consultation with relevant leadership staff, develop, promote and initiate physical wellbeing
activities.
> Ensure a sound knowledge of emerging, evidence-based trends in student wellbeing underpins all
facets of the Middle or Senior School.
> Support teachers with student wellbeing in their classes including in discipline.
> Oversee student management in the MiddleSchool regarding behaviour, attendance, uniform and the
application by students of the school’s Christian values.
> Develop and implement Christ centred student leadership programs in conjunction with the Head of
Middle School.
Educational Leadership
> Promote and model excellence in Christian education.
> Ensure that a sound knowledge of emerging trends in educational theory, learning theory, wellbeing
theory and methodologies underpins educational practice as it pertains to academic care and
wellbeing within the Christian school context.
> Use effective research in order to promote and sustain improvement, ensuring the development of
appropriate quality assurance and review strategies.
> Provide access to high quality professional learning programs in the Middle or Senior School to
improve professional knowledge, practice and engagement in student wellbeing.
> Maintain a practicing role as a classroom teacher.
Staff Leadership and Management
> In working with the Head of Middle and Senior School you will:
> Oversee, guide, monitor and evaluate Middle School staff performance, succession planning,
recruitment, induction, professional learning and training in relation to student wellbeing within a
Christian school context.
> Provide spiritual, pastoral and professional support for the Middle and Senior School staff in student
wellbeing.
> Model a positive and dynamic Christian working environment by developing a team approach,
ensuring open communication, transparent and effective decision-making and collaborative work
practices.
> Assist the Head of Middle and Senior School as required to resolve matters of staff performance and
conduct, in accordance with School policies, procedures, values and Christian principles.
