About the Role:
The opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Electronic Instrument Trades Worker to join this global organisation which respects diverse perspectives, experiences and traditions as essential and values each employee's contribution toward achieving our business objectives. The candidate will be responsible for conducting Marine Operations and Inspections services based residentially in the remote Pilbara coastal towns of Port Hedland, Karratha, Dampier area, Kimberley, Fremantle and Perth in Western Australia.
The position is permanent, full-time and will involve:
- Inspect and evaluate electronic equipment, machinery, instruments, and automated systems to locate and identify operational problems.
- Perform systematic fault-finding and troubleshooting using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic techniques.
- Dismantle, repair, modify, and replace faulty electrical components, electronic devices, wiring, and mechanical parts.
- Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, calibration, and adjustments to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Reassemble repaired equipment and complete functional tests to confirm correct performance and compliance with operational requirements.
- Commission newly installed equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure systems operate safely and accurately.
- Provide technical assistance and practical operating instructions to users and equipment operators to reduce incorrect use and prevent recurring faults.
- Install, connect, configure, and maintain electronic instrumentation, monitoring devices, and industrial control systems.
- Monitor radio and communication channels and accurately handle incoming and outgoing voice communications.
- Receive coded or technical communications, interpret the information, and prepare clear messages for onward transmission.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components within integrated control systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and system documentation when carrying out installation and maintenance work.
- Conduct operational checks following repairs or maintenance and document faults, repairs, testing results, and equipment performance.
- Work in accordance with workplace safety procedures and manufacturer requirements when servicing and maintaining equipment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
· Relevant Australian Qualification or Overseas Equivalent
· Relevant 2-3 years work experience
