Unihealth Playford Centre is a growing multidisciplinary healthcare organisation providing specialist medical, allied health, nursing and diagnostic services to the local community. As our services continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial management of Unihealth Playford Centre and Milton Medical Centre.
This is a full-time permanent position offering the opportunity to work closely with senior management in supporting the organisation's financial performance, compliance, strategic planning and continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis.
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Maintain the general ledger and perform month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate financial variances.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and assist with taxation compliance, including GST, PAYG and Fringe Benefits Tax.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor payroll accounting, superannuation and payroll reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
- Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, banks and regulatory authorities.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems and ERP platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum five years' experience in financial accounting or management accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian taxation legislation.
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts and management reports.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and operational teams.
Desirable
- Experience within the healthcare or medical services sector.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting financial system implementations and process improvements.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and financial compliance within healthcare organisations.
