$145,000 - $165,000 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Technology Services Department (TSD) plays a key role in advancing Holmesglen's digital capability, delivering innovative technology solutions that support teaching, learning and business operations. Through a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, the team helps drive organisational excellence and future-ready ways of working across the Institute.
As the SMS Environment Technical Lead, you will provide strategic leadership, governance and accountable ownership of Holmesglen's core Student Management System, Ellucian Banner. This pivotal role oversees the roadmap, major releases, integrations and ongoing evolution of a business-critical platform that supports student administration, academic operations and key Institute functions.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, vendors and technical teams, you will ensure the SMS environment remains secure, stable and aligned with organisational priorities, while leading a team responsible for administration, support and integration activities.

As the SMS Environment Technical Lead, you will:

Provide strategic ownership and leadership of Holmesglen's Ellucian Banner Student Management System, ensuring it remains secure, reliable and aligned with Institute priorities.

Lead platform roadmap planning, governance, upgrades, releases and lifecycle management to support long-term sustainability and continuous improvement.

Manage key vendor relationships, contracts, service levels and product roadmap engagement to maximise platform value and performance.

Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational and regulatory requirements into strategic system enhancements and technology solutions.

Lead and develop the Applications Support Team, fostering a high-performing environment focused on service excellence, innovation and collaboration.
To be successful, you’ll have:

Experience managing and supporting enterprise-scale Student Management Systems, with Ellucian Banner experience highly regarded.

Strong knowledge of platform lifecycle management, governance, releases, upgrades and change control processes.

Demonstrated success building relationships with vendors, stakeholders and business leaders to deliver strategic technology outcomes.

Proven leadership capability, with experience developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.

Experience influencing senior stakeholders and providing trusted advice on technology investment, risk, platform direction and future capability.

A strategic mindset and the ability to align enterprise technology platforms with current and future business needs.
WWCC and Police Check:
Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
