Empowering Women, Transforming the World.
SOMA by Lorna Jane is a 22-acre private sanctuary in the Byron Bay hinterland, where nature and Lorna Jane's Active Living philosophy come together to create something truly restorative. We host intimate, immersive retreats, venue-hire events and a boutique day spa for women ready to go deeper — and we're looking for a Retreat Operations Coordinator to hold the operational backbone that makes it all run.
The Role
This permanent part time role owns Facilities & Stock Management as its primary focus — keeping the property, grounds and supplies running exactly as they should, so every guest touchpoint feels effortless. You'll work alongside a second Coordinator who owns Events & Project Management, with both of you cross-trained to flex and cover one another when needed.
Day to day, you'll:
- Walk through and maintain the presentation and readiness of all facilities and grounds, logging and escalating maintenance as it arises
- Manage stocktake, ordering, receipting and the linen cycle across all operational and retreat supplies
- Track supply invoices and uphold Facilities & Stock SOPs
- Ready all spaces ahead of each retreat and booking
- Welcome and host guests across touchpoints, including after-hours response when holding the MOD phone
- Set up, present and reset retreat spaces — dome, fire pit, residence, outdoor and communal areas — to each facilitator's requirements
- Coordinate physical logistics of delivery: equipment, props, consumables, furniture, cleaners and housekeeping
- Support facilitators by translating briefings into clear operational plans, and step in on venue-hire bookings when needed
Who We're After
You're organised, detail-driven and take real pride in a well-run space — the kind of person who notices what's out of place before anyone else does. You're guest-oriented and calm under pressure, comfortable managing competing priorities and real-time changes without losing presence with the people in front of you. You work team-first, flexing easily into guest hosting or event support when the roster calls for it.
You'll thrive in this role if you're hands-on, solutions-focused and excited to be part of something a little different — a workplace built on the same Active Living philosophy that's shaped Lorna Jane for over 37 years.
Desirable (not essential)
- Facilities, stock or property-coordination experience
- Events, hospitality or premium guest-experience background
- Current First Aid and CPR
Why SOMA
You'll be working somewhere genuinely beautiful — think fig trees, fire pits and rolling hinterland — with a team who believe in each other and show up for one another. It's meaningful, hands-on work in a setting that makes "quietly capable" easy to love.
Ready to be part of it? We'd love to hear from you.
