Experienced Trailer Assembly Technician

Nevco Engineering is seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Trailer Assembly Technician for our Blacktown workshop.
This is a hands-on role involving the mechanical assembly and complete 12 V electrical fit-out of Nevco’s Australian-designed EZY APPROACH ground-loading trailers.
Originally developed for motorsport and low-clearance vehicles, the EZY APPROACH range is now used across prestige vehicle, commercial and a growing range of specialist transport applications. Every trailer is fully assembled and tested in Blacktown before being supplied across Australia and internationally.
The role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work as part of the trailer assembly team to complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and finishing tasks.
This is safety-critical work. The successful applicant must be methodical, reliable and capable of completing work to a consistent and independently verifiable standard.
Key duties
· Assemble trailer running gear, including axles, suspension, hubs, bearings and associated components.
· Install complete 12 V trailer electrical systems to approved diagrams and layouts.
· Install hydraulic components and pre-designed hard-line assemblies.
· Fit finishing items and accessories, including toolbox doors, stone guards and customer-specific equipment.
· Follow Nevco’s assembly process, including torque requirements where specified and witness marking of all completed fasteners.
· Read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions and established workshop procedures.
· Check and validate work at the completion of each task.
· Participate in final mechanical, electrical and hydraulic testing.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area.
· Clearly identify and communicate the status of any incomplete work.
Product-specific procedures and Nevco assembly methods will be taught on the job.
Essential requirements
· Recognised trade qualification.
· Minimum three years’ relevant hands-on experience in trailer assembly, caravan or vehicle fit-out, vehicle body building, or comparable specialist equipment assembly.
· Strong mechanical assembly capability.
· Previous 12 V automotive, trailer or vehicle wiring experience.
· Ability to read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions.
· Strong attention to detail, reliability and clear communication.
· Current driver’s licence.
· Australian citizenship, permanent residency or unrestricted working rights in Australia.
· Ability to commute to the Blacktown workshop Monday to Friday.
Relevant trade backgrounds may include automotive mechanical, auto electrical, vehicle body building, fitting and machining, boilermaking or engineering fabrication.
Desirable skills
· MIG or TIG welding experience.
· Current forklift licence.
