About the role:
The Department of Health Contract Administration Unit (CAU) manages the transition of contracts from the commissioning of major Public Private Partnerships health projects to their ongoing contract management for the duration of the operating term (usually a period of 25 years).
The Contract Administrator will report to the Director, the Contract Administration Unit.
Contracts currently in the operations phase and managed by the Contract Administration Unit include Casey Hospital, the Royal Women's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, the Bendigo Hospital and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Project and the new Footscray Hospital.
This position will be expected to work with autonomy and accountability while ensuring they remain consistent with High Value High Risk practices and policies including the Partnerships Victoria Framework as it applies to the management of operational PPPs.
This position is expected to model and uphold the Department's values and behaviours at all times.

About you:
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise:

A relevant tertiary qualification in Health Management, Law, Finance, Business Management or related technical field.

Contract Administration – a record of achievement in contract administration, financial management and project governance of Public Private Partnerships at a senior level. Experience with major health care projects will be highly regarded.

Commercial Acumen – strong commercial, strategic and financial acumen across a broad range of infrastructure areas with a comprehensive understanding of the Government operating context as it applies to the infrastructure industry, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context.

High Value High Risk and Public Private Partnership Expertise - significant demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Government's High Value High Risk policy frameworks, including experience in the administration of Public Private Partnership projects.
