The Role
The Nurse Manager Education, Practice and Professional Development will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the nursing and midwifery education team to deliver outcomes consistent with organisational and professional goals and objectives for The Royal Hospital for Women (RHW). This senior leadership position will work collaboratively with all key stakeholders and managers to ensure that RHW has a highly competent nursing and midwifery workforce that delivers best practice care to patients.
The Nurse Manager will support and contribute to evidenced based practice, innovation in nursing and midwifery practice across clinical areas at RHW aligning with strategic direction.

Selection Criteria:
- Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and a Registered Midwife (dual registration).
- Relevant post graduate Education and/or Management qualification or equivalent work experience; or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment to support person centred care practice
- Experience in assessing training needs, contributing to strategic and operational planning and the successful facilitation, implementation and evaluation of nursing and midwifery educational programs incorporating adult learning principles
- Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends and issues and utilise change management skills to provide appropriate strategies
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills to negotiate, influence and inform decision making with a diverse range of stakeholders to meet organisational priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to practice development, safety, quality improvement and transforming workplace cultures.
