First Light Healthcare Ballina is a well-established, progressive, privately billing family medical practice located in the heart of the Northern Rivers within a busy health precinct surrounded by specialist consulting rooms, Ballina District Hospital, Radiology and pathology. We provide comprehensive, patient-centred care to a diverse coastal community. With modern consulting rooms, a busy patient base, and on-site allied health and nursing support, we offer high-quality care in a supportive and professional environment. Our team includes three experienced nurses, five allied health professionals, and a highly skilled administrative team, all working closely with GPs to provide seamless, integrated care for patients with complex or chronic conditions.
The Role
We are looking for a Casual Practice Nurse to join our Ballina and Byron practices to be a key team member working collaboratively with an experience team of Nurses and General Practitioners, providing high quality and comprehensive care for all patients
The Tasks
- Performing health assessments
- Administering vaccines
- Post vaccination observations and monitoring
- Triaging patients and prioritization of emergency situations
- Assisting GP with minor procedures
- Coordination, management, and maintenance of patient clinical data
- Wound dressings and removal of sutures
- Health education and coaching to support patients with achievement of their goals
The Successful Candidate
- AHPRA registered Enrolled or Registered Nurse
- Proven prior experience in General Practice or an acute setting
- Knowledge of Health Assessment is highly regarded
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- A passion for people and a personable approach
