We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in a busy café. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating high-quality food, leading a team, and maintaining high kitchen standards.
About the Role
As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring consistent food quality, efficient service, and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team.
- Develop and maintain a high-quality menu.
- Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and inventory.
- Minimise food waste and control kitchen costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen.
- Work closely with the café management team to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
About You
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Experience managing food costs and kitchen operations.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative, reliable, and passionate about quality food.
