Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication, swallowing, and feeding disorders.
- Analyse client needs and determine appropriate therapy pathways.
2. Individualised Therapy Planning
- Develop tailored therapy plans aligned with client goals, care plans, and functional outcomes.
- Ensure goals are realistic, measurable, and achievable.
3. Goal Setting & Client Engagement
- Collaborate with clients, families, and carers to establish meaningful therapy objectives.
- Support improved communication abilities and overall quality of life.
4. Therapy Intervention Delivery
- Deliver evidence-based interventions using a range of therapeutic techniques, tools, and resources.
- Support the development of speech, language, social communication, swallowing, and feeding skills.
5. Progress Monitoring & Review
- Monitor client progress regularly against agreed goals.
- Adjust therapy plans and strategies to maximise outcomes.
6. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, educators, support workers, and families.
- Contribute to coordinated and holistic care planning.
7. Client & Family Education
- Provide education, guidance, and practical strategies for continued progress outside therapy sessions.
- Empower families to support communication and feeding goals at home and in the community.
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate clinical records, therapy notes, assessments, and progress reports.
- Ensure timely communication with allied health teams, referrers, and relevant stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Speech Pathology / Speech Language Pathology. Minimum of six months clinical experience in speech pathology/therapy.
- Current Speech Pathology Australia registration or recognised compliant qualification. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Commitment to person-centred care and professional excellence.
