We are looking for a reliable and experienced Retail Sales Assistant to join our friendly newsagency and lottery store in Figtree. Previous newsagency experience required.
About the Role
- Part-time position
- Minimum 24 hours per week
- Flexible working days (availability across weekdays and weekends is preferred)
- Opportunity for additional hours when required
- Pay rate $31 per hour (weekdays) plus applicable penalties on weekends.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a newsagency, lottery, or similar retail environment is required.
- Experience operating a POS system and handling cash transactions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently
- Confident in opening and closing the store ( training will be provided)
- Comfortable managing the day-to-day operations of the shop
- Current lottery terminal experience is highly regarded
Your Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Process lottery and retail sales accurately
- Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Replenish stock and maintain store presentation
- Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the store
- Open and/or close the store when rostered
