We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and support our continued growth.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organising, preparing and cooking food in accordance with the business’s menu, recipes, quality standards and customer expectations. The role requires strong food preparation skills, knowledge of commercial kitchen operations, and the ability to maintain consistency, quality, food safety and efficiency during busy service periods.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Chef will be responsible for:
- Planning and organising the preparation and cooking of food in the kitchen;
- Preparing and cooking pizzas, sauces, toppings, sides, takeaway meals and other menu items;
- Planning menus and assisting with menu development in consultation with management;
- Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with budgeting for kitchen operations;
- Ordering food supplies, ingredients and kitchen stock required for daily operations;
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented in accordance with business recipes, quality standards and customer expectations;
- Discussing food preparation, kitchen operations and service requirements with management and kitchen staff;
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising junior kitchen staff on preparation methods, portion control, cooking procedures and presentation standards;
- Preparing, seasoning and cooking food using appropriate commercial kitchen techniques, including baking, grilling, frying and other relevant methods;
- Preparing pizza dough, sauces, toppings and other ingredients required for daily service;
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements;
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations and safe food handling procedures within the kitchen;
- Checking food storage, stock rotation, freezing, preservation and temperature control processes;
- Assisting in selecting, training and supervising kitchen staff where required;
- Supervising and supporting kitchen staff during food preparation, cooking and service periods;
- Maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic and organised kitchen environment;
- Assisting with inventory control, minimising food wastage and ensuring efficient use of ingredients and kitchen resources;
- Working effectively in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and service efficiency;
- Performing any other duties reasonably associated with the role of Chef and the operational needs of the business.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful applicant must have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent relevant qualification;
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef;
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations;
- Ability to prepare food consistently and efficiently during busy service periods;
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements;
- Strong attention to detail, quality, presentation and cleanliness;
- Good teamwork, communication and organisational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
