Transport & Dock Coordinator - Melbourne
We have recently opened a new purpose-built Cold Storage and Transport Terminal in Derrimut VIC. With this we have expanded our Transport operations.
To support our growing team in Melbourne, we are looking for two highly organised and driven Logistics Coordinators to run our Local pick up and delivery fleet. These roles are hands-on and at the heart of our business, responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of freight movements around Melbourne, maximising efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Flexibility is key as our business operates on a 24/7 basis inclusive of public holidays.
We have two roles available with varying start and finish times, with the rosters being:
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Sunday to Thursday
Key Responsibilities include:
- Data entry into our TruckMate system.
- Allocate freight and deliveries to our local fleet to ensure service requirements are met efficiently.
- Monitor and manage driver hours, ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management requirements and company policies.
- Ensure drivers and subcontractors are scheduled to loads on a timely basis.
- Ensure drivers receive accurate information and paperwork related to loads and pickups.
- Liaise with the Terminal Manager and other staff to ensure all freight requirements of customers are met.
- Work closely with and provide support to warehouse and yard staff, drivers, supervisors and linehaul teams to maintain smooth operational flow.
- Assist with planning, organising and preparing the following day’s local pickup and delivery requirements.
- Provide operational support on the dock, including loading and unloading trailers where required.
- Operate a forklift and terminal tug to assist with freight movements and trailer positioning.
- Safely position trailers onto and off loading docks to support warehouse operations.
- Assist both local and linehaul drivers with operational requirements as needed.
- Optimise equipment and resources to reduce downtime and inefficiencies.
- Build strong relationships with drivers, customers and internal teams.
- Knowledge of Melbourne, surrounding suburbs and truck routes.

Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will possess strong computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Additionally, proficiency or ability to adapt quickly to software, TruckMate for tracking and managing logistical data will be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:
- Current Forklift Licence is required.
- Experience operating a terminal tug and moving trailers within a transport yard environment is highly desirable.
