Christ Church Grammar School is seeking an exceptional educator to join our Preparatory School Leadership Team as Deputy Head of the Preparatory School (Pastoral). This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the experience of boys during some of the most important years of their development, helping them grow into capable, compassionate and confident young people.
Working closely with the Head of the Preparatory School, you will provide strategic leadership across student wellbeing, pastoral care, behaviour support, co-curricular programs and the daily life of the Preparatory School. At the centre of this role is a commitment to ensuring every boy is known, supported and encouraged to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Commencing 1 January 2027, this leadership position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a thriving school community, while teaching up to 0.2 FTE in an area of expertise.

About You
You are a highly relational and authentic leader who is passionate about student wellbeing and the positive difference schools can make in the lives of young people.
You will bring:
- Relevant teaching qualifications, ideally including a Masters in Education or similar, together with current WA Teacher Registration, Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in pastoral care, student wellbeing or a comparable educational leadership role.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues and external professionals.
- Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to lead multiple priorities with confidence and care.
- A collaborative mindset, a commitment to professional growth and a genuine desire to help young people flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance the pastoral care framework of the Preparatory School, fostering a culture of care, respect and belonging.
- Oversee key student wellbeing initiatives, including School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), Social-Emotional Learning and Protective Behaviours programs.
- Partner with staff, families and external professionals to support the social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.
- Coordinate significant school events, assemblies, chapel services, camps, tours and other Preparatory School activities.
- Provide leadership of the Preparatory School co-curricular program and contribute to the vibrant life of the School community.
- Deputise for the Head of the Preparatory School and contribute to strategic planning, staff development and continuous improvement initiatives.
