About the position:
To undertake a range of plant operation and labouring duties to contribute to the maintenance of Council’s: parks, roads, streets and open spaces within the Injune & Surrounds region.
Key responsibilities
Leading Hand Functions
Under direction from and in the absence of the Team Leader, provide leadership and direction to the team including:
o Monitoring the day-to-day operations of work sites
o Ensuring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times by all employees, contractors and site visitors
o Ensure team member compliance with Council’s IMMS policies and procedures including reporting injuries, accidents and near misses
Town and Asset Maintenance

Ensure town entrances are presentable by slashing, spraying and mowing.

Undertake litter collection in streets, parks, open spaces and town approaches.

Maintain and clean culverts, gutters, drains and streets.

Perform general maintenance to parks, gardens and open spaces by mowing, weed control/spraying, irrigation, landscaping and pruning.

Perform minor pavement and footpath repairs/maintenance as required.
Plant Operations

Safely operate Council’s plant and equipment as per the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Council’s policies and procedures.

Undertake regular servicing and maintenance for plant, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal capacity and efficiency levels and avoid unnecessary operational downtime.

Report any faults through Council’s fault reporting system.

Maintain plant records as per Council’s IMMS and plant management policies and procedures.

Undertake any required plant inductions and assessments.
Labour Support

Undertake general labour duties and participate in multi-skilled team tasks as required.

Perform work site preparation and clean up.

Setting up traffic control signage as per Council’s traffic control plans.

- Permanent, Full-time position - 38 hours per week
- Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream B - Level 4 - 5 - $63,152.41 - $64,139.80 per annum
- Maranoa locality allowance $72.00 per fortnight

Work a 9-day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.
