Farmhand – Full Time
Jungle Creek Station – Laura, Queensland
Jungle Creek Station is seeking a reliable, hardworking and self-motivated Farmhand to join our small, professional team on a remote cattle property near Laura, Queensland.
This is a live-in position located in an exceptionally remote area of Cape York. During the wet season, the property can be isolated from town for weeks or even months, making this role best suited to someone who is independent, adaptable and enjoys remote living.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and management of livestock.
- Livestock mustering, handling and feeding.
- Operation and routine maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
- General property maintenance, fencing and repairs.
- Assisting with road construction and earthmoving operations as required.
- Operating heavy machinery where suitably licensed and experienced.
- Maintaining high standards of workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Working independently for extended periods as well as contributing positively to a small team.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience working with livestock, preferably within the beef industry.
- Certificate II or higher in Agriculture or a related field.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current medical clearance confirming fitness for remote work.
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
- Their own accommodation suitable for station living.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Excel, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work unsupervised for several days at a time.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to pass a regular drug test
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in animal health or veterinary care.
- Experience operating heavy machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude and general maintenance skills.

- Reside on the property for the duration of employment.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
