Bielby is experiencing a period of sustained growth with a strong project pipeline and continued expansion into new regions. Building on our 40+ year legacy of delivery success across major civil infrastructure, we’re looking for talented engineers to join our team at Site Engineer, Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer levels.
This isn’t an engineering role where you’ll only see one part of the project lifecycle.
You’ll initially work alongside our Pre-Contracts and Estimating teams, contributing your delivery knowledge to methodologies, staging, planning and estimating. As projects are awarded, you’ll have the opportunity to mobilise with our project teams and be a part of delivering the work you ‘ve helped plan.
Our projects range from metro-based opportunities to regional projects, with some roles involving FIFO or DIDO arrangements. Where applicable, competitive project uplifts are provided in recognition of regional and remote working arrangements.
What you’ll do
Depending on your level of experience, you’ll have the opportunity to:
-
Work with our Pre-Contracts and Estimating teams to develop practical construction methodologies, staging plans and first-principles estimates.
-
Bring a delivery mindset into the tender process, identifying constructability, resourcing, logistics and project risks before work reaches site.
-
Transition from tender into project delivery, taking ownership of work packages you helped plan and price.
-
Coordinate site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and resources to safely deliver against project requirements.
-
Monitor quantities, productivity and costs and contribute to forecasting, reporting and the management of variations.
-
Build strong relationships across project teams, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
-
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
-
For our more experienced engineers, provide guidance and support to developing engineers and contribute to broader project planning and decision-making.
What you’ll bring
We're interested in hearing from engineers at different stages of their careers. You don't need to have done every aspect of the role before – we're looking for people with strong engineering foundations, a delivery mindset and the appetite to broaden their experience.
Depending on the level you're applying for, you'll bring a combination of:
-
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
-
Experience in civil construction or infrastructure appropriate to your level.
-
Practical problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgement.
-
An interest in developing your understanding of both the commercial and delivery sides of a project.
-
The ability to communicate clearly and build effective working relationships.
-
A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute across different stages of the project lifecycle.
-
For Senior Project Engineer opportunities, the ability to lead and develop others, set clear expectations and create a collaborative, accountable team environment.
-
A willingness to consider opportunities across metro and regional projects, including FIFO/DIDO arrangements where applicable.
