We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team. We are looking for someone with a high level of availability who is passionate about supporting individuals to achieve their goals and maintain their independence.
The successful applicant must hold current Manual Handling and Medication Administration training/certification.
Disability Support Workers support clients with personal care needs, in-home daily living activities, facilitate therapies, and provide companionship and social support.
Generally, you can expect the following standards from support workers:
- Perform all duties with professionalism and care
- Manage time effectively and organise work efficiently
- Display sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity
- Use common sense and seek guidance when tasks fall outside the scope of the role
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities may vary from time to time and include:
- Assisting with household tasks
- Providing personal care support
- Administering medication
- Assisting with meal preparation and grocery shopping
- Supporting clients to learn new skills
- Supporting clients to gain employment opportunities
- Working collaboratively with doctors, therapists, and other professionals
- Teaching and supporting life skills such as budgeting
- Adapting communication styles to meet individual needs
- Supporting clients to develop hobbies and interests
- Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments and community activities
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Certificate
- Current Driver Licence
- Manual Handling Certificate (Required)
- Medication Administration Training/Certificate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High availability throughout the week
Pay: $32.88 – $45.00 per hour
