About the Role
CareSouth is seeking experienced Support Workers to provide individualised support for young people living in our Shoalhaven Youth Support Service (SYSS) program. The young people we support come from a background of trauma and we are looking for people who will work with their strengths to see them thrive. Could it be you?
The overall responsibilities of a Support worker is to promote a consistent and considered person-centred approach to the direct care of young people who reside in youth homeless service, ensuring individual needs are met. Support Workers provide emotional support and crisis intervention, maintain a safe and welcoming home environment, and encourage young people to develop their social and living skills. Additional duties include undertaking household and daily general duties, participating in regular team and organisational meetings and training.
You will be a person who can uphold our values, exercises patience and resilience and exhibits a very nurturing demeanour. We are looking for individuals who place children first and are motivated to do what is best for them.
About you
- Qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, Disabilities or related field (or working towards);
- A current Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Clearance, First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain); and
- A current Drivers Licence.
