The Commercial Team exists to support the continued successful management of projects within Arup’s WA Business. As part of this team, the core purpose of this role is to provide Commercial support in the form of expertise, guidance and advice to project delivery teams across WA. The role requires a broad skill base in Commercial practices including cost control, identification and management of risk, problem solving skills, flexibility, and high levels of attention to detail.
The Opportunity

Provide commercial and project controls support in the preparation of project financial reporting and respond to queries from Project Teams, Team Leaders, Group Leaders, and Geography Commercial and Operations Leads.

Support project setup and delivery through participation in project inception meetings, project health checks, and the preparation of commercial reporting for project and local leadership.

Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial and financial risks, while contributing to business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities.

Manage activities associated with the cyclical accounting process, including identifying and escalating issues prior to financial close and coordinating corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.

Participate in project audits, bid reviews, and client project setup meetings, acting as a commercial and financial liaison where appropriate.

Partner with project teams on large-scale or complex projects to drive financial performance, commercial compliance, and overall project success.

Is this role right for you?

Minimally 3 years of relevant experience in commercial, finance, project controls, accounting, or business support role;

Experience within professional services, engineering, consulting, or construction environments is advantageous.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; or project management systems is preferred.

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with project managers, team leaders, and senior stakeholders.

Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and project financial management principles.
