About the Role
We believe that learning to swim and understanding water safety are essential life skills. In this role, the focus is on building children’s self-esteem, nurturing their confidence and delivering high-quality swimming and water safety instruction in a fun, safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to make every lesson the highlight of a child’s day!
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accredited GELSwim programs in line with organisational standards and teaching frameworks.
- Implement GEL policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure and inclusive environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Provide supervision, guidance and leadership to GELSwim students during lessons, promoting a positive and engaging learning experience.
- Communicate effectively with parents, offering constructive feedback on student progress and development.
- Assess students’ abilities to ensure appropriate class placement within the Learn to Swim program.
- Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with students, families, and the wider community.
About You
To be successful in this position, we are looking for someone who;
- Is a qualified swim teacher/ has just achieved their swim teaching qualification and looking for their first teaching opportunity

If successful in this role you will be appointed as both a:
- GELSwim Instructor - teaching learn to swim lessons run Monday to Friday in the mornings and after school as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.
- Aquatic Programs Swim Instructor - teaching School intensive programs which run Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3:00pm during school terms.
Qualifications
- Must have a current Austswim Certificate of Swimming and Water Safety OR Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) OR LSV Swimming and Water Safety
- CPR Qualification [HLTAID009]
- Employee Working with Children Check
- National Police Check (willing to undertake)
- Pre-employment medical (willing to undertake)
