Active Assist is expanding our support worker team across Craigieburn and Melbourne's northern suburbs and is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers for a range of current and upcoming participant supports.
We are looking for reliable, professional people who understand that successful disability support is about more than completing tasks — the right worker needs to be the right match for the participant.
About the Roles
Our participants have diverse support needs, and available work may include:
- Community access and social participation
- Personal care and daily living support
- In-home support
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support
- Intellectual disability
- Psychosocial disability
- Physical disability and mobility support
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Capacity building and development of independence
- Transport and community-based activities
Opportunities vary between participants, allowing us to match workers according to their experience, skills, availability, location and personality.
Who We're Looking For
We want to hear from experienced support workers who:
- Communicate confidently and professionally in English
- Build genuine rapport with participants
- Are reliable and punctual
- Understand participant choice, dignity and independence
- Can work independently and exercise sound judgement
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Produce clear and accurate shift documentation
- Are comfortable working one-on-one in participants' homes and within the community
Experience supporting particular disabilities or complex support needs should be clearly identified in your application.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant disability support experience
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check where required
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Victorian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Smartphone
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Employment
Casual employment under the SCHADS Award.
Hours and roster arrangements vary according to participant requirements, with opportunities for ongoing regular shifts and additional work as Active Assist continues to grow.
