Social Media & Content Creator Paid, Part-Time (Melbourne)
JT Education is hiring a Social Media & Content Creator to help us reach more students preparing for selective entry.
ABOUT US
At JT Education, our goal is to help students feel supported from the first step of their selective entry journey right through to the final selection decision. We want families to feel like they are getting real value, strong teaching, and genuine care along the way.
We currently support students preparing for JMSS Year 10 and 11 entry, along with students preparing for EBS Year 11 and 12 entry, and we hope to expand into pre-VCE education in the future. With demand growing year on year, we are looking to expand our team and help as many students as we can.
Students and parents put a lot of trust in us, and we do not take that lightly. That is why we are looking for people who can represent us well, bring a positive and friendly energy, and understand what students are going through. As a team of alumni who have been through this process ourselves, we want to provide the kind of support we wish we had when we were in their shoes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is not a traditional marketing role. It is hands-on and content-first, focused on producing a high volume of short educational videos for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. It suits someone who enjoys making content regularly, not posting occasionally.
We are looking for someone who is organised, creative, and proactive, and who can take ownership of a project with confidence. We want someone who understands short-form content, is comfortable working independently, and can help us tell the JT Education story well.
WHAT THIS ACTUALLY INVOLVES
- Creating short-form video: Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts
- Cutting longer footage and lessons down into engaging short clips
- Posting consistently rather than in bursts
- Appearing on camera, or scripting and directing content for others
- Testing hooks, captions, and pacing, then iterating based on what performs
- Building out our Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook presence
- Setting up our content engine end to end
- Taking ownership of a project working directly with Jayce
YOU WILL ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU LIKE
- Explaining complex ideas simply
- Sharing study strategies and exam technique
- Breaking down how selective entry and scholarship exams actually work
- Editing fast, caption-heavy video
- Building an education brand online
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Selective school graduate, scholarship recipient, or strong firsthand experience with selective and scholarship exams
- Organised and proactive
- Creative and social-media savvy
- Comfortable on camera, or motivated to get there
- Articulate, with strong written English
- Academically strong
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment
- Interested in marketing, content, and brand-building
NICE TO HAVE, NOT REQUIRED
- Experience with CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva, or similar
- Experience growing a social media account
- An understanding of what makes short-form content hold attention
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
- Real ownership of content and brand growth
- Direct impact on students preparing for exams that shape their schooling
- Creative freedom to experiment and build
- A portfolio of real content with real numbers behind it
Media and marketing directly affect how many students we can reach and support, so this is a core part of the business rather than a side project. There is real room here to extend the contract and take on more responsibility if the work lands well.
