About the Role
SA Metro Care is seeking Female Disability Support Workers to provide supports within Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across the northern Adelaide suburbs, including Salisbury, Elizabeth, and Munno Para.
In this role, you will support young female participants who require structured and consistent supports due to a history of behaviors of concern. Supports are delivered in accordance with each participant’s Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP) and relevant safeguarding arrangements, including guardianship and SACAT orders where applicable.
The focus of this role is to provide person-centered, safe, and respectful supports that promote stability, wellbeing, and meaningful daily engagement while maintaining a safe environment for both participants and staff.
Support workers will work closely with the broader support team and follow established behavior support strategies to assist participants with daily living tasks, emotional regulation, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities

Provide person-centered supports within a SIL home environment
- Implement strategies outlined in participants’ Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP)
- Support participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household routines
- Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive engagement in daily activities
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reporting where required
- Work collaboratively with behavior practitioners, guardians, and the broader support team
- Maintain professional boundaries and safe work practices at all times
Experience and Skills

Previous experience working in NDIS disability supports, particularly within SIL environments
- Experience supporting individuals with behaviors of concern or complex support needs
- Understanding of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and behavior support strategies
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centered approaches to support

Requirements

NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver’s License
- Access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
- Previous experience in disability support, SIL, or complex behaviors preferred
- Understanding of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and person-centered practices
- Strong communication, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
