The Carlton Football Club is one of Australia’s oldest and most prominent sport institutions. Founded in 1864, the Club’s headquarters and training facilities are located in Carlton at IKON Park, our traditional home ground. Our IKON Park, we are proud of our state-of-the-art facility that supports our high-performance environment.
IKON Park’s food and beverage facilities include a contemporary Café & Event Space, Players’ Lounge Dining, VIP Business Lounge’s, Private Dining Room, and the spectacular Pavilion Event Centre.
About the Role
The Carlton Football Club are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Barista/Food and Beverage Attendants to join our team at 1864 Café & Events on a Casual basis. As a Casual attendant you will be the face of 1864 Café, responsible for crafting high-quality coffee, serving delicious food, and providing outstanding customer service. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive experience for everyone that walks through our venue at IKON Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop great relationships with our staff, members, and customers, ensure they have a great experience with us, and we become there go to venue
- Contribute to the culture of our venue, making it a welcoming place where people feel they belong
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to recipes and standards
- Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and blenders
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including the coffee bar, counters, and seating areas
- Ensure proper handling and storage of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain food and beverage quality
- Process transactions using a POS system
- Assist with stocking and inventory management drinks and other supplies
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Barista
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive and energetic attitude, with a genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service, leading by example and setting the standard for others
- Willingness to learn and share your skills and knowledge with the team
- Knowledge of the Point-of-Sale system Square is desirable
- Experience in being part of an engaged and high performing team
- The ability to work flexible hours in keeping with the venues’ operational hours
- A strong alignment with Carlton Football Clubs’ values and the ability to build a positive and trusting work relationships across the 1864 Café & Events Team
