In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering high quality, solutions focused legal services across commercial, technology and property matters to support Transport for NSW in meeting its statutory, policy and contractual obligations.
This role will see you provide practical legal advice, draft and negotiate complex commercial and property contracts, support major projects and contribute to dispute resolution where required, while building capability through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
You will lead and navigate practical legal solutions and improved decision making in a complex, fast paced public sector environment with competing priorities, supporting major infrastructure initiatives.
This is a temporary opportunity for up to 12 months and is based at our 231 Elizabeth Street office.

About you
Your strong legal expertise, analytical capability, and communication skills have been developed through experience in general property law, including leasing, licensing, easements and telco property across government, private practice, and in-house environments.
These strengths will enable you to excel in delivering high-quality legal advice. You can manage competing priorities and translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance that supports sound business decisions and successful organisational outcomes.
You’re recognised as a trusted, collaborative legal advisor, skilled at drafting and negotiating complex legal documents, and experienced in working with integrity in a public sector context.
You will hold tertiary qualifications in law, a current NSW practising certificate, and bring a minimum of four years’ post qualification experience, along with the ability to work collaboratively and exercise sound judgement.
