Join Altar Decks and learn the trade while working outdoors on residential and commercial decking projects across the Gold Coast.
You’ll work alongside experienced carpenters on new deck builds, repairs, board replacements and timber construction, while also gaining experience in timber restoration, including sanding, preparation and staining.
Get paid while you learn, build real projects and develop practical carpentry skills for a long-term career.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with new timber and composite deck builds
- Completing deck repairs and board replacements
- Assisting with framing, subframes and structural repairs
- Measuring, cutting, fixing and installing materials
- Using a variety of carpentry tools and equipment
- Assisting with sanding, staining and timber restoration
- Working across residential and commercial projects
- Keeping job sites clean, organised and safe

Previous construction, carpentry, labouring or trade experience is an advantage, but not essential.
