Monk Ag Services is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder to join our dedicated team in Cobrico. If you have a hands-on approach, an eye for detail, and a solid understanding of agricultural equipment, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
In this full-time position, you will be a vital part of our day-to-day operations. Your core responsibilities will be split between fabricating custom frames and infrastructure for our busy workshop, and performing critical repairs and routine maintenance on a wide variety of agricultural machinery. We need someone who can pivot from precision fabrication to heavy-duty equipment repair with ease.
Key Tasks & Duties
While your day-to-day will be dynamic, your core responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting Plans: Reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints, technical drawings, and repair specifications for custom workshop builds and machinery fixes.
- Metal Preparation: Cleaning, cutting, gouging, and shaping metal stock and heavy steel components to exact measurements using various cutting tools and torches.
- Fabrication & Assembly: Setting up, fitting, and welding custom frames and structural components for the Monk Ag Services workshop.
- Machinery Repair: Diagnosing structural faults and performing high-quality welding repairs and maintenance on heavy agricultural machinery (tractors, harvesters, implements) to ensure maximum operational uptime.
- Quality Control: Inspecting and testing all welds, joints, and fabricated parts for structural integrity, safety, and operational alignment.
- Finishing: Cleaning, grinding, and treating welded surfaces for a durable and professional finish.
- Equipment Maintenance: Routinely servicing and maintaining workshop welding equipment, safety gear, and hand tools.
Skills & Qualifications
- Skill Level Requirement: Applicants must possess qualifications and experience commensurate with ANZSCO Skill Level 3 (typically an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of relevant on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV).
- Experience: Proven, hands-on experience in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, MMAW) and metal fabrication. Previous experience working directly with agricultural machinery is highly regarded.
- Problem Solving: A strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues independently.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
