The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Service have sites located in Cairns, Mossman, Mareeba and Innisfail.

About you:
In your new role you will:
Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote effective team functioning.
Assess the health needs, conduct brief intervention and other prescribed treatment for individuals with alcohol, tobacco and other drug related problems and their families.
Participate in the provision of a standardised treatment package for cannabis dependence and assist with conducting lifestyle and relapse management groups and other treatment groups as appropriate. Prepare discharge plans where required.
Assist with developing, conducting and evaluating education and training programs for nurses, other health and welfare professionals, and relevant community groups to assist them to develop better strategies to address the problems associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
