Position Overview:
GreenStar HomeCare is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing participants' independence, well-being, and quality of life in alignment with their NDIS plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
- Community Access: Support participants to engage in community activities, appointments, and social outings.
- Domestic Assistance: Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Skill Development: Encourage and assist participants in building life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship, build trusting relationships, and promote a positive, empowering environment.
- Medication Assistance: Administer or remind participants to take medications as prescribed (if required and trained).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, and progress, ensuring compliance with NDIS standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in disability support, aged care, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to empowering individuals.
