We are seeking an experienced and reliable disability support worker to provide in-home support, assistance with daily activities, and community access for a 45-year-old female participant who is non-verbal and lives with schizophrenia. The participant requires a calm, patient, consistent, and confident support worker who can build trust and respond appropriately to complex behaviours and mental health-related needs.
Proposed Hours
Tuesday: 6 hours
Thursday: 6 hours
Saturday: 6 hours
Contractor Rates
Weekdays: $45 per hour
Saturday rate: Negotiable
All rates are negotiable
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance with daily living activities
- Community access and appointments
- Meal preparation and household support
- Providing structured and consistent support
- Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns
- Maintaining accurate progress notes Supporting the participant in accordance with her care plan and individual needs
Requirements
- Previous disability or mental health support experience is essential
- Experience supporting participants with schizophrenia or complex behaviours is highly regarded
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Police Check
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable insured vehicle
- ABN and appropriate contractor insurance
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliable, professional, patient, and emotionally resilient
