Tell me about this role:
Are you an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) professional looking to make a meaningful impact on Defence capability outcomes? As an ILS Practitioner, you will play a key role in ensuring Defence systems and equipment are effectively introduced into service, supported throughout their lifecycle, and remain mission ready.
Working within Defence logistics frameworks, you will contribute to the development and delivery of critical logistics support solutions across complex capability programs. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Defence stakeholders, project teams and industry partners, ensuring all logistics requirements are integrated, supportable and aligned with operational needs. You will be involved across the full capability lifecycle, helping to shape sustainable support systems that enable ongoing operational success.
Cairns is the preferred location but other locations considered on a case by case basis.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Deliver a range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities across Defence capability projects
- Manage and maintain ILS artefacts, including codification and cataloguing of Items of Supply (IOS)
- Perform transactions within Defence Logistics Information Management Systems (LIMS) to support provisioning and sustainment activities
- Develop and maintain logistics documentation, equipment schedules and repair parts schedules
- Identify and support supplier and repair pipelines to enable effective through-life support arrangements
- Engage with Defence stakeholders, logistics organisations and industry partners to coordinate logistics outcomes
- Support capability Introduction Into Service (IIS) activities and sustainment planning
- Contribute to ILS reports, plans and supporting documentation
- Support acceptance testing activities and provide recommendations relating to ILS outcomes and capability acceptance
What sort of skills do I need?
- Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent relevant Defence logistics experience
- Experience delivering Integrated Logistics Support outcomes within a Defence environment
- Strong understanding of Defence capability lifecycle management, including Introduction Into Service and sustainment activities
- Knowledge of Defence logistics policies, processes and Logistics Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Experience with NATO codification and cataloguing processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
- Australian citizenship and a minimum Baseline security clearance
